Driver Training for Schools

Our mission is to :

  • Teach students to drive safely

  • Impart competent technical driving skills

  • Teach proper understanding of all rules of the road

  • Instill a proper awareness of all dangers to students and to other road users

 

We operate mobile trainer units housing six simulators that are brought directly to schools in the Munster area.

This road safety programme was pilot-tested in the 2009/2010 academic year and proved exceptionally effective for transition year students and others for driver training.

Media reports have highlighted that persons on the 17 to 24 year-old age bracket are five times more likely to be involved in a road traffic accident.

 

Driving simulators are the most effective strategy to train young drivers. Research from the Southern California Research Institute has indicated that students taught on simulators are 33% less likely to be involved in an accident.

Introduction To Driving & Evaluations. Student gets practical driving experience on our driving simulators and introduction to safe driving.

 
3 hour course (3 days) 36

Covers 22.5% of Irish driving Test Module. Student taught to operate all car controls and drive safely obeying rules of the road.

 
6 hour course (6 days) 36

45% of Irish Driving Test Module: student taught to operate all car controls, drive obeying all rules of the road and drive safely in traffic. Covers country, city and highway driving

 
12 hour course (12 days) 36 90% of Irish Driving Test Module student taught to operate all car controls, drive obeying all rules of the road and drive safely in traffic. Covers driving in country, city, highway, roundabouts, motorways, fog, review lessons and driving pre-tests

 

Fully Qualified Driver Instructor Supervises The Simulator Lessons.

Students can take follow up lessons at our shop unit Motorwell Driving School at 43 Shandon Street, Cork.
